AmaWaterways FAQs

AmaWaterways sails Europe’s classics—including the Danube, Rhine, Main, Moselle, Seine, Rhône & Saône, and Douro—plus the Dutch & Belgian Waterways. Beyond Europe you’ll find the Mekong (Vietnam & Cambodia), the Nile in Egypt, the Chobe in southern Africa, and (on select seasons) Colombia’s Magdalena River.
On most itineraries you’ll get gourmet meals, wine/beer/soft drinks with lunch & dinner (Europe), complimentary Wi-Fi, and guided shore excursions in many ports—often with activity-level choices. Specialty dining at The Chef’s Table is typically included (reservation required). Exact inclusions vary by region and date.
In Europe, wine, beer and soft drinks are usually included with lunch and dinner (and often sparkling wine at breakfast). Premium bar drinks outside mealtimes are extra unless a package or promo applies. Other regions may differ—ask us for details on your sailing.
A signature, multi-course tasting experience featuring regionally inspired dishes, often paired with wines. There’s no extra charge, but a reservation is required and availability is limited.
On many ships, select cabins feature both a French balcony (floor-to-ceiling glass that opens) and a step-out balcony, giving you fresh air and great views in any weather.
Expect a mix of gentle/regular/active walking tours, plus hiking and biking options in many ports. Group sizes are comfortable and led by expert local guides for deeper cultural insight.
Yes—complimentary Wi-Fi is available on board most AmaWaterways ships, with best performance in public spaces and cabins when the signal allows.
Smart-casual is perfect for daytime and evenings. There are no formal nights required; many guests choose something a touch dressier for the Captain’s Reception or special dinners.
Policies vary by region and offer. On our European flight-inclusive packages, gratuities are normally included, but this will depend on the offer. Ask for confirmation for your specific sailing.
